What's new in PromptVan
MCP & CLI scoped to your active vault
The MCP server and CLI now access only the items in your active vault ("Your List") — listing, pulling, running, and testing all operate on the active set, so your AI tools see exactly what you've turned on. Activate items in PromptVan to use them. (search, fork, push and sync remain available for discovery, creation, and backup.)
Test prompts & version history
Run a prompt through a model and see the output without leaving your tool (test_prompt / `promptvan test`), and view or roll back a prompt’s version history (prompt_history + prompt_rollback / `promptvan history` + `rollback`).
Native prompt picker over MCP
Your active vault prompts now show up as native prompts in MCP clients that support it (e.g. Claude Desktop) — pick one from the prompt menu, fill in variables, and it’s inserted, no tool call needed.
Smarter pull & a whoami command
pull_prompt / `promptvan pull` now accept a prompt’s name (not just its exact slug), and the new `promptvan whoami` shows which account and API URL you’re using.
Vault-first MCP & CLI
The MCP server and CLI now work from your active vault ("Your List") by default, so your AI assistant sees a focused, relevant toolset instead of your whole library. Ask for everything anytime with scope:"library" (CLI: --all).
Use agents & GitHub imports from your AI tools
New tools across MCP and CLI: adopt an agent’s full instructions in your chat (pull_agent / `agent pull`), run an agent on a task (run_agent / `agent run`), read an imported GitHub tool’s README (read_import / `read-import`), and clone an import locally (`clone-import`, git or tarball).
Organize and update without friction
Move prompts between folders (move_prompt / `move`); push now updates an existing prompt instead of erroring; prompt slugs are shown in listings so they’re easy to pull; and you can schedule an agent by its slug.
Reliable pipeline results over the API
Pipeline run output and pipeline details now come through the API and MCP/CLI fully populated — step names, durations, cost, and error messages — instead of showing blanks.
